July 2006 –

Submitted Outer Banks mystery which began as a prize for a fundraising event. Information about this novel can be found on my website at: www.nikkileigh.com/lilah.htm. The book is scheduled for release in 2007. The cover artwork is an original watercolor by a local artist and friend.

March 2006 –

Stormy View, contemporary women’s fiction novel was released by Wings Press. It is available in e-book and print format. Information about this novel can be found on my website at: http://www.nikkileigh.com/prod01.htm. Stormy View is the contemporary book in the Misty Cove Chronicles. It led to the historic Misty Cove novels.

January 2006 -

Widow’s Walk, historic women’s fiction and first book in the Misty Cove Chromicles, was released by Write Words, Inc. May 2005 –

March 2007 -

Beginning work on the first book in the Book Promo 101 Series. This will be released in e-book format and is the first in a series. It will be published under the name Nikki Leigh. The series may be released in print at a future time. Book Promo 101 includes tips, suggestions, personal experiences, review questions and more about a wide variety of promotional topics. The information is slanted for book promotion, but there's plenty of information which is useful for any promotional work. Click for more information.

January 2007 -

Non fiction writing project for Atlantic Publishing - The Restaurant Manager's Handbook, Fourth Edition. This contract was to update and expand the existing 3rd edition. The new edition will include a lot of new information and will be an invaluable resource for restaurant managers. The book is projected to contain 1000 pages and will have a companion CD with many useful forms for managers. It should be available in May 2007

July – August 2006

Non fiction project written for Atlantic Publishing - Successful Meetings:

How to Plan, Prepare and Execute Top-Notch Business Meetings. Created the table of contents and outline, then compiled the research information and found business people to contribute their thoughts and experiences to coordinate with the information in the book. Available March 2007

April – June 2006

Non fiction project written for Atlantic Publishing - Non Commercial Food Service Handbook: A Complete Guide to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Military. Prisons, Schools and Churches. Created the table of contents and outline, then compiled research information and conducted interviews with people in the various fields for inclusion in the book. (Scheduled for release June 2007.)

January – February 2006

Non fiction project written for Atlantic Publishing - How to Open a Financially Successful Pizza & Sub Restaurant: Get Your Slice of the Pie. Completely reworked a manuscript that was submitted by another publisher. There were many problems with the manuscript and much was copied verbatim from other sources. Entire book was reworked and Pizza and Sub Shop specific information was added as needed. Laid out all manufacturer information and compiled interviews of individual case studies to be included in the book. (Available.)

October – December 2005

Non fiction project written for Atlantic Publishing - 365 Foolish Mistakes Smart Managers Commit Every Day: How and Why to Avoid Them. Compiled the table of contents and outline from personal experience and various research resources. Spoke with a number of people to compile their personal experiences for inclusion in the book. (Available – August 2006.)

March 2006 –

I worked with a group of authors to develop and launch The Readers’ Station. This is a site where the members can feature their work and we have an online message board which allows readers and other authors to discuss writing questions with one another. August 2006 – Present

Working as the Self Promotion Topic Editor for the www.inspiredauthor.com website. I write articles, answer questions and start discussions on the forums and post to the promotion and character blogs on this site. My work is online and moderate a my forum to discuss topics. (http://www.inspiredauthor.com/Business_Career/Self_Promotion/index.htm) These articles were a Top 10 Finisher in the annual Preditor and Editor's Poll.

November 2005 – August 2006

Work as a moderator for an online affiliate forum. Maintaining order, enforcing the rules and offering marketing advise for members. I wrote numerous marketing articles for www.affiliatemarketingblog.com under my member name – “litekepr”. Some articles were also published online on other sites with my “litekepr” bio at the bottom of the page. These articles have been deleted from their blog, but the titles can be found on my website at: www.sandcconsulting.com/marketing_articles.htm.

September 2005

I worked with an educational company to compile a tutorial for a prospective business consultant’s course.

Spring 2002 –

I developed 12 lessons on character development which I facilitate at an online writers university. During the last four years, I participated in a variety of writing classes and study groups. I offered in depth suggestions on ways to improve stories and outlining in these groups.

Editing Experience

March 2007

Editing a manuscript for an author. She is talking with an agent and he suggested that she hire a editor to help her to tweak the manuscript. I'm offering her suggestions about ways to adjust the text and ways to add depth and feeling to the characters. We're also talking about ways to add suspense and additional atmosphere to the story. Its a very good story which is based on her mother's life in Nazi Germany - as a young women who is half-Jewish.

August 2006

Edited a novel for the same author mentioned below. He is so happy with my work that we have started brainstorming a sequel and I offered some promotional ideas for the book which his editor is considering.

September 2005

Edited a book of short stories for an author. The manuscript was a mess and I reworked the contents and made some needed improvements. We are working together on his most recent novel and have discussed working on a sequel. His comments about my work are, “Clients should know your work is super. You can probably help me rethink some of the scenes I'm not happy with. Nothing major, the original editor sometimes took the scenes in directions other than planned. I look forward to working with a professional. Sorry, just some of the editors on Elance are not in your class”. He also sent me this testimonial - Shri is a skilled writer and editor who conducts her work in a friendly, professional manner. The work she did for me is excellent. I hope to use her services again in the near future.

Ghostwriting Experience

June 2007

I was hired to re-write a weight loss book for a client. English is not his first language and I'm editing the book to make the English language correct. The book is packed with great information for people who need to lose weight, who want to change the overall appearance of their body and for people who want to learn how to make food their friend not their enemy.

April 2007 -

I was hired to write a book for ice cream shop owners. The book was to help these owners understand how to promote their businesses better. There are a lot of promotional tips along with many ice cream specific promotional tips.

December 2006 -

I was commissioned to write a book which is inspired by a true story of a man, his horse and the dressage community in the northeastern United States. This project was a learning experience in many ways. I have a deeper appreciation for horses after this project.

December 2005 –

Ghostwrote - The Quantum Referral Marketing System for Therapists. Worked with client’s

outline and compiled research from e-books her provided and notes and experiences that I

had with joint ventures and referral marketing. Made small changes to please the client.

This is the feedback this client left for me. “Highly recommended. The work was turned round very quickly and all dealings with the writer were excellent. The end product was perfect. If I have any further projects I’d be more than happy to use this writer again.” We have talked about additional projects since this time.

October 2005

Ghostwrote for an “insider’s tips” e-book. Created the outline and researched the subject online. Worked with the client to make small changes in order to polish the finished product for him. We are preparing to work on one or two new projects in the summer of 2006. This is the feedback left for me from this client. “Excellent person to work with. She, unlike many other writers on Elance, completed the project before the deadline that she gave me. I highly recommend working with her.”

Ghostwrote - Promotion & Sale of Your E-book. This was compiled from some research but mainly from my personal notes and experiences. I worked closely with the client to create an e-book which included all facets of promotion that she wanted to feature.

August 2005

Ghostwrote - Massage Master Marketing Manual which features advise on how to develop the marketing elements of a massage therapist business. This information was compiled from my experiences as the marketing director for a chiropractor. We have discussed expanding this 100 page e-book in the future to create a print book which features step by step instructions on all phases of marketing a massage business.
